In Mark 12:41–44, Jesus observes a poor widow giving two small coins at the temple. It highlights that God values the heart behind the gift, not its size. The widow’s act of faith reflects total dependence on God to provide for her needs.This story challenges us to evaluate our own generosity. Are we giving sacrificially or out of surplus? Do we trust God to sustain us, or do we cling tightly to what we have out of fear? True worship involves surrendering all we have to God, knowing He is our provider.The widow’s offering reminds us of Christ’s sacrifice, who gave everything for our salvation. Her example calls us to live with open hands, trusting that God is faithful to provide as we seek first His kingdom (Matthew 6:33).
